A gearbox remap recalibrates the transmission control unit, not the engine ECU. Is a gearbox remap worth it?
For most automatic and DSG owners, yes. The gearbox is often the weakest link in an otherwise well-sorted car, holding onto gears too long or shuffling between two ratios when it can't decide what you want. A remap sorts that indecision out.
